Scary Bad Words

Share you thoughts and your stories.............

Ungrateful

Been bitching and moaning these last few weeks.Summer was taking it's own time to get to East London.Every weekend for the last 7 odd weeks has been raining.Week would be fairly dry but coldish and the weekends wet.So one moans and groans.Well today summer kicked in and you know what?I want rain and cold.Cant take this.I am sweating like a pig.Everyone you walk past's smellys funky.

I work in a retail outlet.A very busy one.My office is in the basement downstairs. And I cant take this.It too hot.Cant think can move cant function.

Willing to bet though when the rain does come first thought going to be how much I hate the rain.

Your Word.

In this day and age I think a person's word has no value.Have had the luxury of hearing someone who agreed on something go on like nothing was said.I am not claiming to be a saint myself but there are cruel callous morally depraved bastards in this world that would screw their own mother over if they could make a quick buck. And I being the idiot I am have gotten into bed with one of em.Should have known better and only have myself to blame.Really need to have less fate in ppl.Keep on getting my nuts handed to me on a sliver platter by bastards like this.Wish I would learn or at the least my bullshit radar would actually work for once.Well enough ranting for now.Need to be more careful in future.

A favour to ask of all you people out there. If you say something have the decency to follow through on your word.Esp if it with someone you have power over.

We thought, because we had power, we had wisdom.
Stephen Vincent Benet

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

To All The Anti Vodacom Folks Out There!!!

Pretty cool video.Thanks Sally.

This is Wacked!!!!!

Slapping Girls - video powered by Metacafe

What I Should Have Said!!!!

Yes I do miss you!

Could we sort this out in January please?

Would it be wrong to ask you to wait till January before making any big decisions?

I am really afraid of letting you down, so much so that I will rather turn you down than accept your offer on the off chance that I will let you down.(Terrible logic I know but fear does weird things)

These are a few of the things I have wanted to say but have been too afraid to say. They say we learn from our mistakes. But wat happens when our mistakes scar us and we land up doing stupid things to avoid any more of those scars. Is it sensible to change our whole outlook and character because once upon time it casued us some hurt and guilt.Should we over promise and make sure we deliver or should we under promise and over deliver.Or do we risk losing too much by under promising.Oh what a web we weave ourselves in our efforts to be safer!!!!!!

Lost Love

Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.- Khalil Gibran

Is it true?Do we only realise how much we love when we can love no more.Do we have to lose before we see the light.Read a line last night bout only knowing you were in love when you dead cause otherwise what do you compare it to.We mistaken lust often for love but do we sometimes ignore love by thinking it be lust.Could we be guilty of such a gasthly crime.

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. - Kahlil Gibran

Children of Men

By far one of the best movies of the year if not for longer.Filmed and directed in manner that holds your attention for full 109 min.Alfonso Cuaron is a director to watch out for.
In 2027, in a chaotic world in which humans can no longer procreate, a former activist agrees to help transport a miraculously pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea, where her child's birth may help scientists save the future of humankind.
Thats the basic storyline.Wont give more away.Go out and watch it asap.Clive Owen is brillaint as the reluctant hero. While Claire-Hope Ashitey's portrayl of the miracle mother Kee is heart warming while oddly funny.
Theodore Faron: Who's the father?
Kee: There's no father. I'm a virgin. Nah! Be great, though, wouldn't it?
On a more serious note, the thought of a world with out the laughter and light of children is indeed scary. We gain our decency and humanity from children. When we lose our children we lose our souls and much like the chaos that exists with out adults in Lord of the Flies so to do adults land up in the same mess with out children.

Control

How is it that no matter what time I sleep I can never bloody wake up for work?Slept at 10 and getting out of bed this morning was as hard if not harder than on the days when I sleep after 12.Is it a sign?Maybe my body is trying to tell me something?Or maybe I just lack control.I wonder.

Make Up of the Break Up

Break up's, the part of life that most normal people dread. Where once was happiness, love, affection and pleasure is replaced by anger, bitterness, hurt and worst of all emptiness. And this is where the break up has been "civil”. Pray that you never have a nasty break up cause then you take everything and you increase it to infinity and the chance's are you still will fall short of how nasty it gets.

There are a few aspects to a break up that no matter how aware the participants are of them they still take place. The breaker in an attempt to justify his/her action's more so if the reason for the break up is totally their responsibility will find fault in everything the partner did. This is done in a pathetic attempt to make sense of the choice to walk away. On the other hand the breakee will look to over analyze everything done or said by his/her partner. The reason for this is to give ammo to the fight that is needed to change love to hate.

This is in a "civil" break up. In the not so "civil" cases all bets are off. Intelligent educated individuals will proceed to carry on like animals. Chunks will be torn from each other and nothing is sacred in this fight to establish dominance and erase affection and love.

True to the saying there is a thin line between love and hate, no where more so than in the break-up.

Update to Visitors

Have adjusted the restrictions on comments. It now open to all.

How do you take your movies?

Solo or with company? This has always been a sticky point with me.I love watching movies alone. Will go with my partner if I have one but as a rule have no problem watching a movie alone. Now the thing is most people I know dont approve.Have been labeled weird, morbid, dodgy and host of other not to nice comments.

My argument is that no matter how much you try you can never concentrate totally on a movie with company. If you with friends then you messing around or laughing with them. With a partner you distracted cause your mind is on them or you hands on them. With kids you making sure they ok and not disturbing anyone else. And in the event of concentratin totally when with company you will get slated for ignoring said company. When you alone the movie and you are at one.You may cry, laugh, nod in agrement and generally just enjoy the movie for what it is.

So to all the critics out there, try watching a movie alone and then debate the benefits. But till then leave the morbid weird one's amongst us to enjoy their solace and alone time.

Mini's First Time - Dark comedy at its finest

I really enjoyed this film last night. Then again, I've been told I have a sick sense of humor. Mini's First Time is a great dark comedy. I highly recommend this one if you're tired of the "typical" summer release. The cast is very solid and quite enjoyable to watch. There are a number of side splitting one liners. One of my fav is the following between Mini and her mum, Diane:
Diane: Did you have fun tonight honey?
Mini: What? My first night turning tricks? Could have been better.
Diane: That's nice.

Not going to get into the plot and storyline here.If you like dark witty comedy go and watch this.If you a prude and easily offended stay away, far far away.

Swearing at Work

Dear Employees:

It has been brought to management's attention that some individuals throughout the company have been using foul language during the course of normal conversation with their colleagues.

Due to complaints received from some employees who may be easily offended, this type of language will no longer be tolerated.

We do, however, realise the critical importance of being able to accurately express your feelings when communicating with colleagues.

Therefore, a list of 13 New and Innovative "TRY SAYING" phrases have been provided so that proper exchange of ideas and information can continue in an effective manner.

1.
Try Saying:
I think you could do with more training
Instead Of:
You don't have a f*cking clue, do you?

2.
Try Saying:
She's an aggressive go-getter.
Instead Of:
She's a f*cking power-crazy b*tch

3.
Try Saying:
Perhaps I can work late
Instead Of:
And when the f*ck do you expect me to do this?

4.
Try Saying:
I'm certain that isn't feasible
Instead Of:
F*ck off a*se-wipe

5.
Try Saying:
Really?
Instead Of:
Well f*ck me backwards with a telegraph pole

6.
Try Saying:
Perhaps you should check with...
Instead Of:
Tell someone who gives a f*ck.

7.
Try Saying:
I wasn't involved in the project.
Instead Of:
Not my f*cking problem, mate.

8.
Try Saying:
That's interesting.
Instead Of:
What the f*ck?

9.
Try Saying:
I'm not sure this can be implemented within the given timescale.
Instead Of:
No f*cking chance mate.

10.
Try Saying:
It will be tight, but I'll try to schedule it in
Instead Of:
Why the f*ck didn't you tell me that yesterday?

11.
Try Saying:
He's not familiar with the issues
Instead Of:
He's got his head up his f*cking a*se.

12.
Try Saying:
Excuse me, sir?
Instead Of:
Oi, f*ck face.

13.
Try Saying:
Of course, I was only going to be at home anyway
Instead Of:
Yeah, who needs f*cking holidays anyway.

Thank You,

Email is Evil

One of the greatest inventions of modern times but it evil.Makes people nasty. We are all used to sending a mail and getting a reply within 5 min give or take some. But what happens when someone sends a mail and god forbid you dont reply in 5 min.

You get a flippant whatever, nevermind, where you,you to busy to reply etc etc.....

What most people forget is that even though email is generally super quick there are times when it aint.Mail server's go down or are overloaded.Telephone exchanges go down. There are power failures. And the list can go on.

Has the convience and speed of our electronic worlds made us rude and cheeky?

So dont forget the next time someone does not reply in two two's they not ignoring you, they not being nasty or mean, they dont not care and they arent evil. The mail is just running a bit slow.So dont freak out, definitly dont fire off a salvo of harsh emails cause once it sent it gone and then theys no getting it back. So take a deep breath, maybe go have a cup of tea or a smoke and then come back and check for you reply. Most likely it will be there.

This is a publice announcement to save some from hurt and others from embarresment of harsh emails.

P.S: This applies to other so called quick forms of communication.IM,Mxit,GTalk,MSNLive and the rest of em.

Scary Bad Words

Is there a partner for each and everyone of us out there? Is the idea of a soulmate a reality or just a Mills&Boons creation? Are some meant to spend their lives alone?

Find myself asking myself these questions fairly often now.Think it the whole conditioning thing. If you aint married at 25 something wrong with you etc etc.Hogwash if you ask me but still turns your head inside out if you let it.

When are we over the hill?Is there some point that we cross that we cant see or fathom that assigns us the pity of the married?

Thought of marrige scares me beyond words.Stability, responsiblity, partnership, family, maturity, etc etc, are all very scary bad words in my head.Irony of it is that back in my more youthful days I was pegged as the first to be hitched one.A fair mix of bad experience's, bad stories, bad luck, manic depression and a change of philosophy have had a play in this. But is it enough to blame these things for being scared to the bone of the whole idea?

And in all fairness there are times when i wonder how it would feel to be married. The idea of getting home and spending time with someone who cares about and loves you.To spend time with somone who you want to be with and not forced to be with(boss, workmates, etc)Having a kid or two that will show you the more important things in life.

User/Abuser

When do we go from just a user to a dreaded abuser?

I smoke 20 blondes a day.User or abuser?
I watch 5 to 10 movies a week.User or abuser?
I drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day.User or abuser?
I spend 2-3 hours online a day.User or abuser?
My laptop spends 24 hours online a day.User or abuser?
I buy bout 10 magazines a month.User or abuser?

In the grand scheme of things do we ever know when we cross over? Do we realise that an action which was up until now ok is now over doing it? Is human nature so fundamently flawed that we will always live a life of excess? Are our blinkers so good that even as the damage is being done we are oblivious to the ramifications of our actions?

Just some questions flying through my head.A small bit of this ever moving mass/mess that i call my mind.

Human Nature

How is it that we hurt those that care bout us yet go out of our way to please those that could not care less bout us?

Is it possible to put too much thought into something?

Is it easier to be fickle, shallow and pathetic?

Do we have to look a gift horse in the mouth?

Are we ever truely content and happy with our lot?

Who turned off the lights?

It's so dark.
Where once light and hope lived,
There is only despair and gloom.

Will they ever come back on?
Who's going to turn them on?
Who's going to chase away the dark?

Who turned off the lights?

This darkness is spreading.
It shrouds everything in it's veil.
Scary gloomy despairing darkness.

Is there any hope of escaping it?
Is there a way out?
Can the light stop it?

Who turned off the lights?

Our Bleak Future

"Hey Sipho! I have a cow for you for just R500!"
"E yoh, Bongani! I'll take it - you can bring it to me tomorrow!"
The next day: "Sorry Sipho, but the cow died last night ."
"Hauw.. So, ok then. Just give me my money back."
"Sorry Sipho, I did already spent that money.."
"Eish! So, ok then. Just bring me the dead cow."
So, Bongani brought the dead cow to Sipho the next morning. A few
weeks later, Bongani bumped into Sipho and asked him what he did with the
dead cow: "You won't believe, Bongani! I made a raffle for the cow, and I sold
251 tickets for R5 each! I made a profit of R850! But, I didn't tell anyone
the cow was dead.."
"Yoh! And the people they didn't complain?"
"Eish! Only the guy which won! So, I gave him back his R5 and he was
happy!"

Sipho is now in parliament ..

This total cracks me up but scares me as well.

Growing Up

Was talking to a friend the other night. She recently had a son and was filling me in on plans for the future. She thinking bout moving to the UK to unsure that son has a better future and schooling. Could help but think that it was pretty drastic moving continents when the kid had just started walking so that his future was secure.

But that’s when I realized that parenthood changes people. Gratefully it is for the better in most cases. Here was someone who basically lived for the next party and trip and who has been borderline crazy material for as long as I had known her but who has now become this wonderful, in control and responsible person through this baby.

Brings a smile to my face realizing that by creating this life she saved her own.

As a non parent I have to wonder bout the affects that a child will have on my life.

I pray that it will be a good and blessed one when it does happen.
